What am I up to right now? That’s the question you have wondered since you landed on this page, unless you aren’t familiar with /now pages. In such a case, it’s simple. This page is about what I am currently doing in multiple aspects of my self-being. It provides a broader snapshot, a moment in a larger timeframe of my current situation, both physically and mentally, than any updates on my social media.

Thanks to Derek Sivers for bringing up the idea of having a /now page! You can read more about this concept in the following link: this “Now” page.

So, what am I up to?

Pursuits (New Update!)

I am into long distance trail runs, and my goal for this year, in 2025, is to finish my first 50k (31 miles) race. That’d also be my first ultra, which is any distance longer than a marathon, 42k (26 miles.) However, I got injured on July 12 when I ran a 30k trail running race. I jammed my knees…I know what I did wrong. Two weeks before that race, I ran by myself 30k, and my body wasn’t conditioned yet to endure that mileage in such a short period of time. So, I learned that lesson the hard way.

I like climbing and surfing; however, I am more focused on improving my climbing skills (bouldering) at the moment. I competed in a boulder competition at the Pacific Edge gym in Santa Cruz this October. I was happy with my performance. I signed up for the intermediate level, and I thought that I couldn’t finish many of the boulder problems; however, I underestimated myself, and I did quite well. Right now, my level is at a v3-v5 grade.

Yoga! Pilates! Bring them on! I’ve been practicing yoga and pilates 2 times a week since September, and I am getting into it! My body feels way less stiff, and I can even see getting more flexible and having an improved range of joint articulations. Especially on my hip flexors!

I surf without much intention of progress itself, and instead, I try to go with the flow and enjoy every session without putting any pressure on myself about performance. Although it would be cool if I could improve my cross-steps. Lately tho, I have noticed that my balance has gotten better.
